Education & Background
Jonathan D. Ringenberg, M.D. grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He received his undergraduate degree from Baylor University where he was a member of the 2008-2011 Baylor Bears baseball team. Dr. Ringenberg then returned back home for medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine where he was inducted in to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Oklahoma where he received several awards for his medical research. Dr. Ringenberg then pursued further specialty training, completing a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Kansas Medical Center where he assisted in team coverage for the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and Kansas Jayhawks.
Dr. Ringenberg specializes in knee, shoulder, and sports medicine surgery. He treats a variety of sports-related injuries including ACL tears, meniscus tears, patellar dislocations, cartilage injuries, tendon injuries, rotator cuff tears, shoulder instability, and labral tears. Dr. Ringenberg also provides non-operative treatment options for the knee and shoulder including Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections.
Dr. Ringenberg participates in medical research. He has published several articles in the field of orthopedics and sports medicine and won several research awards during his residency and fellowship.
Dr. Ringenberg lives with his wife, Sigrid, who is a thoracic surgeon at Baylor Scott & White. In his free time, Dr. Ringenberg enjoys spending time with his wife and dog, hiking or walking around the lake, fishing, golfing, watching Netflix, and staying active in their local church.
